Like most of you I’m sure, I was a bit preoccupied and emotionally exhausted by the final game of Uproar on the Lakeshore. The last thing on my mind was the numbers. But today’s a new day it’s time we get back to the nerding out. I promise this is the last spider web graph you’ll see me produce in in 2010, but if you have an appreciation for charts or otherwise enjoyed the way I visualized the tournament scores let me hear it and I may put forth the effort for tournaments in the future. Again- if you haven’t been following along- you should probably start at the beginning.

Quick and dirty outcomes of the semifinal and championship rounds
Game 9: RMRG 113 vs. Gotham 79
Game 10: Oly 106 vs. Philly 81
Game 11: Gotham 162 vs. Philly 51
Game 12: RMRG 147 vs. Oly 146

2010 Champion: Rocky Mountain Rollergirls
2nd Place: Oly Rollers
3rd Place: Gotham Girls

How did the RDIT staff predictions hold up?

Tournament quality over-all seemed about on par the rest of this year’s WFTDA Big 5 tournaments. Though I have to admit even the blow outs were competitive and fun to watch. The top 3 in each region definitely brought their best games to the big show, making this a very fun weekend.

The major upset of the weekend happened in the first game when Texas made a run for their lost glory by showing they’re still nothing to be trifled with. By winning over BAD they’ve proven they can compete with what I consider “The Rest of the Best in the West” (Portland, Seattle, and Denver- the ones who didn’t quite make it to Championships).

Texas didn’t get beyond that win, though, and with no other upsets in the weekend the top 4 competing in the final rounds were no surprise.

With only a few exceptions, our average prediction of point potential was pretty spot on for the entire tournament. Oly performed only slightly under our predictions- mostly due to Philly’s performance against them in Game 10- holding them to just 106pts and a 25pt difference. Over all, though, I have to say this chart tells me RDIT’s contributors know a thing or two about how these teams perform.

Then again, it was our random mystery contributor who produced the most accurate bracket…

…and point differentials. I really want to out our mystery contributor- them are some crazy good bracket picking skills.

That’s all I got. I’m in hopes we’ll see some great post-tournament write-ups from those who watched from the stadium rather than the couch. But first I have to confirmed the rest of our contributors survived.
